at 385 Front St N in Issaquah. We have been extremely satisfied with
the outcome of all three major projects. The first home remodel

nearly 43 years and have had lots of experience with finishing and
remodeling projects, some we did ourselves and some which were hired
out with mediocre results. I can safely say now that I would never

and you’ll see a recurring theme. That was true in our case, too: we
are fully satisfied and highly recommend this company in this

This testimonial is about GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
and COMMUNICATION. But first a little history.
To be honest I dreaded trying to find someone to
remodel our master bathroom; in fact I stalled, ducked and
dodged for over a year. With no time left on the clock I finally got
a few contractor recommendations from a neighborhood internet
bulletin board and set up a few appointments. It did not start well.
The first contractor wanted us to come to his
office in Bellevue (from North Bend). I passed on that one.
The second contractor agreed to meet us at our
home, but he missed his appointment completely. No call. No nothing.
Behind door number three was a twenty-something
“macho dude” who was about 30 minutes late (at least he called). He
came across as a “know it all with a tool belt” who took three cell
phone calls during our meeting. Our crude design drawings were met
with scoffs and comments about how “this wouldn’t work” and “that
wouldn’t fit.” His promise of “I’ll get back to you with a bid” went
unfulfilled. (Thankfully.)
Interview #4 was okay (decent guy, on time), but
his bid was astronomical and he couldn’t start for about four
months.
FINALLY…
We had the great fortune and privilege of
meeting with Craig Smith. He was on time, there were no cell phone
calls, and he LISTENED (without interrupting) to our requests and
questions. This may sound corny, but he actually came across as
CARING about what WE wanted. He even made suggestions on cost-saving
alternatives that meant if he got the bid it would mean less profit
for his company. His bid was fair, we signed papers and a start date
was established.
The project began on time, and Craig’s regular
calls and e-mails “just to be sure things are going okay” kept us
up-to-date. There were no surprises.
His polite and professional manner
throughout was a breath of fresh air. Excellent service and
exceptional workmanship without the prima donna attitude: what a
concept.
The work crew, Jim, Bill and Ron, as well as the
subcontractors were equally as nice and a pleasure to work with.
They took extra care to ensure our two “inside cats” stayed inside –
without any snide cat jokes – and that our wood floors and carpets
were well protected during the many, many trips across them.
In closing not only does Craig Smith
Construction stand out for workmanship, they take the time to
listen, develop relationships and treat customers with respect. It’s
not just about driving nails and cutting boards.
When the time comes for our kitchen remodel down

This year we embarked on a fairly major update
to our 30 year-old home. We called Craig Smith Construction to help
us with ideas and to complete the project.
The plan was fairly complicated. We wanted to
raise the kitchen ceiling and update the lighting. Additionally, we
wanted to replace all windows and doors, interior and exterior, as
well as all the wood work around the doors, windows and base boards.
We drew upon Craig's experience and eye for detail to choose
products and designs that would complement our home and our
lifestyle. We were not disappointed.
The first thing I want to point out is from the
bidding process through the completion of the job—if Craig or one of
the crew said they would be there, they were. This is extremely
important to us and, unfortunately has not always been our
experience with other contractors. We greatly appreciated this fact
in dealing with this company.
The crew was courteous, attentive to details and
clearly experts in their field. With this large of a project, they
were in our house for weeks, and they truly did their best to
disrupt things as little as possible. They were very conscientious
about cleanliness and left the house each night in better shape than
I ever hoped for—again a fact we greatly appreciated.

perfect and the doors and windows enrich the entire look of our
